There wasn't much snow or ice on the streets when we arrived last night, however, this morning we woke up to 8 inches of fresh snow! We layered on the clothing and started on our trek. First stop was the Downtown Deli for lunch. Reuben sandwich for me, philly cheesesteak for Greg. Excellent crinkle cut fries. Walked across to the Visitor's Center. Got more brochures and pamphlets. Originally located in a log cabin with a sod roof, now located right behind the cabin in a more modern building. The ladies inside were nice and helpful. They suggested we visit the Public Lands building right across 4th. This is a very nice and often overlooked stop. They have awesome animal exhibits. This place has an amazing amount of brochures and maps about National Parks in Alaska, Bureau of Land Management lands, and other public lands and refuges of the state. Watched a very informative film called "Treasures of Alaska". They have many movies to offer, you just ask and they play it for you. Spent the rest of the day walking around downtown checking out shops and such.
ALL THE KIDS SAY, HI, AND THEY MISS YOU. THEY LIKED THE PICTURES.
