Thursday, March 4th

Where's my snow? They promised me snow. Weather dude last night said we should get about 6 inches. There was only about 1 1/2 inches on the ground this morning. There were snow flurries all day that added up to about another 1/2 inch. Still pretty, but not as impressive as I hoped. Greg said there were blizzard-like conditions this morning on his long trek across the street to work. Wow, 2 minutes of white-out.

Met Greg at his office, the Federal Building, after work. We walked together to the Post Office.

We then strolled in the snow down to take a look at the Rondy Dogs. This is display of sprint dog sculptures that have been decorated by local artists. These dog sculptures will be auctioned off at the annual Miner's and Trapper's Ball this Saturday night. Won't be bidding on any but did enjoy looking at them. There were about 12 on display. The one with the red cape was a Super Hero Dog. He was covered in a collage of comic hero clippings and then topped off with a red cape. They will have a similar exhibit this summer with Wild Salmon on Parade.

  1. Awesome blog! It's great to get to see what you are doing. I have pics by some of the same places but with flowers instead of snow in the background. I'm going to show your former class today. H-dog

  2. Katie got your postcard yesterday. She was very excited. Now she is saving cans to pay for a plane ticket this summer!
The pictures posted, are all these taken within walking distance from where you are staying?

  3. Yeah, each of these pictures has been taken as we walk around the city. Most of them are within 10 block radius of the hotel. If you come up this summer Greg promises to share some of his professional photography tips with you (even though you have been the one taking pictures for others and getting paid for it- he says he'll give you lessons)!
