Wednesday, Feb. 24th

Joni drove us to Nashville. Howie was the co-pilot. It began to snow on us near the Tennessee River and continued to flurry until we got out at the airport. After hurried goodbyes, we got checked in and climbed on this teeny little 64 person airplane. You can really feel any air turbulence on small planes! The plane left a little late because we had to be de-iced on the tarmac. When we arrived at the Minneapolis airport we had only 30 minutes to get on our next flight! We literally had to run for the tram to get to G concourse. They began to page us over the airport intercom. As we rounded the corner they announced they would be shutting the doors in 2 minutes!! We may have had 30 seconds left as we zipped to the check-in counter. This was a huge plane! About 6 1/2 hours later, we got arrived in Anchorage. It was about 6:30 and still very light outside. As soon as we checked in at the Extended Stay, we walked about a block down and went to eat at Taco Palace, inside the 5th Avenue Mall. Pretty tasty. Returned to the hotel, tired but ready to explore this "Great Land".
