Tuesday, March 9th

I knew it was snowing hard when I went to bed last night, but I had no idea it would continue at such a rate! I woke up to about 8 inches of beautiful snow. In other parts of the city they got as much as 16 inches of snow. These cold temps will keep the snow around for awhile.
There were a couple of avalanches about an hour south of our city today. They had to close down a highway for a few hours. That area had gotten close to 3 feet of snow in some areas.
Our high temperature for tomorrow will only get to 17. It will be -1 tomorrow night and the following night. Brrr.
Even though it was only 14 degrees when we left for the daily Post Office walk, we still were able to walk around downtown for about an hour. We only got cold and turned for home when the wind began to sting our faces. We will have even more daylight tomorrow as the sun rises at 7:42 and doesn't set until 6:49, that's 11 hours and 17 minutes of sunshine. Sweet.
