Thursday, April 8th

Chilly start to the day at around 20 degrees. The bright sun came out and made it look warmer that it really was. It did get up to about 37 for the high today. The sun rose about 7:00 and didn't set until 9:04- a total of 14 hours and 4 minutes of sunlight. It was light long after that because we could still see the mountains from the room at 9:50!

When Greg got home from work we ate a yummy dinner. I had prepared breaded halibut sandwiches. This is such a prolific fish here that I saw a whole cookbook dedicated just to halibut. Since they can weigh up to 300+ pounds, you better have plenty of recipes to try when you catch one. I plan on catching one this summer!

We walked to the Post Office and then on to the Coastal Trail. The wind was very brisk off the inlet water when we began the walk. We warmed up quite a bit as we strolled along for our 4 mile hike. We saw one moose. He was a large bull resting in the woods quite a few yards off the trail. No photo here because he was blocked by too many trees. Lots of people playing disc golf today. A few more were enjoying the trail with us. Got a few photos along Chester Creek Trail before coming home to rest.
