Took advantage of the long sunlight by heading out to the Title Wave bookstore. We took too long getting there as the service desk was closed by 10 minutes when we got there. Bummer. Walked over to Taco King and ate dinner. After getting our Mexican fix, we walked across the street to the Barnes and Nobles Bookstore. I got a Sherlock Holmes Volume 1 book, another contemporary mystery book, and one chick lit book. We headed home down A street.
From one picture you can tell how much green space is inside the city limits of Anchorage. There are still plenty of trees and park areas to enjoy. When we took the Chester Creek trail, we spotted one large moose resting under the trees. You'll definitely have to click on the picture and make it get bigger to see the old fella. They kinda blend in with the ground or fallen trees for the most part. You can easily walk right by them and not see them. That's moose number 19 if you're keeping score. Got home about 8:30 and it was still light out. In fact, even though the sun went down at 9:04 it stayed light until nearly 10!

  1. Here in Tennessee we are getting ready to lay plastic in our garden for our several hundred tomatoes. I think if I lived in Alaska I would have to build a greenhouse attached to my house so that I could get the feeling of spring sooner. At least you have lots of sunlight since the days are about 14 hours long! If you get a cabin I found a the perfect wood burning oven/stove at an Amish store, only $3,000!!! Laura Best
