Thursday, April 1st

It was 41 degrees at 4:30 when Greg left work for his long walk home. Two minutes later he was across the street and home. We left for our daily Post Office visit. Mailed all our stuff to our accountant so our taxes could be filled out. It would actually be nice to get a refund this year. However, I'm not holding my breath.

We were tempted by $17.99 all you could eat rib dinner at RumRunners. Greg didn't think I could do enough damage to warrant that much money. We decided to hit the Fred Meyers deli and do our Wal-Mart run. We rode the bus out to the Fred Meyers megastore and got a fried chicken dinner instead of ribs. Eight piece dinner with 2 free drinks for $7.99. Walked and shopped for a few minutes in there hunting for bargains. The celery I thought was 98 cents for the whole thing, wound up being 98 cents per pound. No longer a bargain so it went back in stock.

Headed to Wal-Mart for a peppermint and gum restocking. This particular Wal-Mart is the more low brow store. It is never short of a cast of many unforgettable characters- not in the good sense. Tried to get our stuff and get out as quickly as possible. It was 8:30 when we got out. We opted to walk the 2 miles home since it would be light for about another 40 minutes. After a pretty uneventful afternoon we hit the road home.

We followed our normal routine, up A Street and onto Chester Creek Trail. Before we could round the first bend, Greg spotted a huge moose standing to left of the trail. Since he wasn't paying attention to us, we tried to quickly sneak by. Before we got 10 more feet up the trail, I saw another huge moose resting in the trees. By the time we made it out of the woods and back onto the sidewalk we saw 2 more huge moose for a grand total today of 4 moose! So adjust your moose scoreboard to 14. After that, the rest of the walk was uneventful.
